Has anyone seen this before? Bought it brand new, and I used it once without a problem in a standing pole set. When I took it of the water, one spring was extended and appears to have jumped out of one of the jaws. Now I can't set it on that side.

Have had a few over the years. Take it to a vice, 5 or 6", and open up the round eye and pop back in. Squeeze it in the vice to close. I have used a mig on all of my spring eyes to prevent this from happening.
Have it happen every year usually with some of my older traps. Use a large heavy screw drive to pry open the eye. Slide back onto the jaw and then use advise to bend the eye closed. You may have problems with trap from time to time. I think it happens because the metal used is weak.
