Default 7 year old youngster, Atlatl hunt.

Not sure if this has already been posted. Definitely shows how effective a Atlatl can be considering it is thrown by a 7 year old.

I dunno. Grampa "finished it off" with "second lung shot". Grandpa's went right through, he thinks kids shot might have went in 6 inches. Perhaps not enough power, and who really knows about the aim.

High fence atlatl hunt - would still be cool as a 7yr old

High fence or not, that kid did better than most hunters using rifles or bows. Using a peice of 50,000+ year old technology.

Switched to the tablet, it now works.
Good video, reminds me of making atlatls as a kid.

Awesome. Just shows an ancient tool can still get the job done, and by a 7 year old. A lot of hunters go their whole life without getting this close,to understand and *hunt* their quarry.

(But then, atlatl's just aren't tough compared to high powered sniper rifles)

I dunno. Slow it down with the (you tube settings). IMO. At first it looks like the shot hits mid body, but when the deer starts to leap the Atlatl point of entry seems to go with the front shoulder. Maybe someone with some more computer skills could slow it down better than I can.

While I thought the Rocky theme music was silly, you can't help but be impressed with that 7 year old kid stalking and killing a deer with a spear. Bet he will be quite a hunter as he gets older.

Did you miss the video section showing the kid's shot hit the heart and the statement that the deer went only 15 yards before piling up?

In hindsight, Grandpa's "finishing shot" was unnecessary.
