Default Mud hole out in Namaka

Has anyone been bird hunting out at the Namaka release site? My dad was out hunting on the west side and his dog fell into a mud hole. He went to help pull him out, thought the ground around the edge was dryer so he took a step and sunk to his chest. The mud looked like regular mud but had a consistency more like oil. He says the most unusual part is that it was up on the top of a rise with dry solid ground all around it. Has anyone come across this there or anywhere before?

I have some on my land. Can sink a 12' 2x4 with ease. Some years it's dry and crusty on top, but make no mistake... It'll swallow you whole!

I stepped in that a few years ago up to my thigh...it is a very surprising experience and totally unexpected given the surroundings

Default Yup!! Been in one @ Namaka

I was the one that just posted about a mud hole at Namaka... about 6 weeks ago!! I fell in it...(It is actually called a MUD SPRING) ....up to my chest thank god not over the top of my waders.... I told DU about it and they marked it off.... ( this was on the north end of the lake.. kinda looked like a cow path) If at all possible call Ashley at DU in the Calgary office ( I actually called the phone number on the DU sign out at the release site and she can go out and mark it ) there should probably be some added signage!!

Heres my previous post with picture!!
