Default Wmu 402

Aa buddy of mine is comming south and we both have gen elk tags. We were looking to go out around 402. What's it like for crown land and or are land owners respective to door knocking ?

402 is 99% crown land just head out on the forestry trunk road around dutch creek and oldman river campground pick a spot that look good and go for a hike

It's really busy though, be prepared to put some miles on your boots if you want to see anything.

Lots of pressure on elk in these zones. Get high to good lookout before light. Glass for elk. Be prepared to cross valley(s) to get to them.

You will need to be prepared.

This area has some topography to it. Good boots and prudent packs. Keep the bear spray on the hip.
