Son's first bull elk
After 3 days hunting 356 moose with no success, headed into farmland in search of deer&elk. We found a good looking area and were granted permission from a generous farmer.Spent a few hrs fri. nite hunting with only a few deer seen but noted a fair amount of elk sign.Returned at daybreak sat. and started bugling.Almost immediately got a response and a cow appeared on the pasture edge, followed by a young bull.As they walked closer the bull bugled back back but would not leave the cow so it was now or never.Ranged him at 385yds and Ty felt confident with the shot,so dad's shoulder became the rest. With the shot the animal flinched and walked behind a hill,we had to stalk to the next ridge and put him down at about 100yds.Ty's first kill with his new browning x-bolt in 300wsm.
Having trouble posting pics,hopefully soon.
