Anyone used or know much about the cabellas pine ridge scopes or the vortex diamondback?
Looking for a 3-9 ish magnification for an old .308 I'm refinishing to use for hunting deer and maybe moose.
Then diamondback was a bit more in money bit a little clearer. The pine ridge had some yardage adjustment final but not sure I'd use it much in a hunting scenario.
Nothing wrong with the Bushnell Elite line, especially if you can pick up a good used one in the Optics Buy & Sell section.

Where I hunt mostly 200 yard or less. But I do like to shoot 300 yard targets at the range and be able to seem them a bit better than a 3-9 can provide sometimes.
I would avoid the Cabelas Pine Ridge all together, That's right from the guy at the Cabelas in Billings Montana last week. Vortex, I would stick to thier high end optics.
I ended up buying a Nikon Prostaff 5, 2.5-10x40 for $280 USD
Also, I got this rifle from an uncle, and he took his scope off it. I am assuming there were some bases on the scope, would they have been specific for this rifle? All I have are mounting holes, not sure if I need something specific to put a new scope on. Picture attached.

You'll need bases, Weaver is the most common.
Weaver rings as well
