Default Sako m75 Greywolf 338-06 Ackley Improved

Well here are some pictures of my Sako model 75 Grewolf 338-06 Ackley Improved with a new 24" #5 PacNor barrel, 8 flutes with the barrel, receiver, bolt, scope rings, trigger guard and entire magazine powdercoated in Gunmetal Grey to match the Leupold VX3 3.5-10x40 scope mounted in the new style Sako Optilok rings. :sniper: I'll take some better pics @ home with a white background as these ones I took @ work. Let me know what you think. 8)

Still debating on having it done the way I wanted-same barrel but have six flutes with 1/4" cut and just the flutes powdercoated with the receiver back to stainless look along with remaining part of barrel beadblasted to satin stainless finish. Or now I still might have to get the entire barrel powdercoated. I guess I'll see how this one shoots first. My gunsmith said they would take care of me whatever way I choose. They do greatwork!

Now to get some reloads made with Weatherby 338-06AS brass with 225gr Accubonds and maybe try 225gr TTSX's. Accubonds are my first choice though. CANT WAIT TO SHOOT IT!!!

I like it.....other than never been a fan of the Sako stocks.
I wouldn't change anything.
Nice choice of cartridges too!

Nice rifle and a great chambering, IFM.

I've got all the parts collected for a regular 338-06 on a LH M70. Can't wait to get it built.

Default GreyWolf

I think you should hang onto it intell ...oh lets say nexy year around the 5th of October and then sell it to me for much less than you paid for it

Sweet gun man my personal favorite gun is the 75 Greywolf...Passed a limited edition factoy fluted 300 wsm like 2 years ago because of already have a 300 Win Mag regreted it ever since. ...to my defence they were still making the 75.

I agree with you on the other thread about the 85 not having as nice of a stock...sako made a big mistake in changing it.

What's that weighing in at?

Very nice.

Take care

Mike

Default Rifle

Mike_W,

The complete package weighs on @ 4.36kg (just under 9 5/8 lbs.). A new Sako m75 Greywolf (Hunter Laminate Stainless) rifle in a #V action (300WM/338WM) from the Sako website weight is 4kg (8 3/4 lbs.)

Wrongside, thats the way I was. I had the scope for a couple of years waiting for a home, then finally found a Sako Greywolf in the #IV action (new 25-06) in May after looking for about a year. I did find a 30-06 in Ontario in December last year but it was used (MINT SHAPE) and would not deal on the price. I made several offers. They sat on it till September. I paid less with GST from CT in Red Deer than the store in Ontario for the used one. One of my buddies wants to do the same caliber based on the Winchester m70 but not lefthanded.

Cant wait to get loads going.....maybe get some done this weekend one evening.
