This quote from your first link sums it up pretty good - major factory ammo makers, including Remington, still don't offer a hunting load 130 Accubond for the 260 Remington , yet they do for the newer 6.5 Creedmoor.
Since I do my own loading, I am more concerned with the availability of quality brass, and Lapua makes 260rem brass.

I am using 95 gr hornady all the way to 140 Bergers have not tried heavier bullets due to eating up to much powder space ( my biggest grip against the .260) all bullets shoot very well out of my Sako.

I dealt with this when I bought my Rem 700 XCR and wanted 280 rem I had to shop all over canada to find a last years model cause they stopped chambering it. They're own damn round???? An awesome calibre if u ask me. The perfect match between a 270 and a 30/06
140 gr partitions and accubonds in my 6.5. No trouble here!

Model 7 is chambered in it still I believe and if you read the ezine you'll find the new VTR in it as well. Heard a rumour about the sps as well but not confirmed.
I like the round and have 4 of 'em, I use 120 tsx factory loads but will be reloading 130 in different makes this summer.

.280 is my favorite calibre which is why I am building a custom rifle in .280 right now.
