Default Sniper Slug-gun

Today a chap was telling me about his "sniper slug gun" build that he had done in the US. "Punches holes in 3 1/2" diameter cup at 300M all day". I'm allways game for something different, but that level of accuracy with a slug gun is something I am a bit skeptical about. Anybody with experience?

Thanks Fredo -- cool gun-rifle. I got all steamed up about it untill I was reminded of how much 12 ga slugs kick.

This one's supposed to be damn good. Haven't had an opportunity myself.

They can be very accurate with sabot's in a rifled gun.

Velocity and trajectory are quite similar to a 45.70 with 350's, so if you can put 3 into a cup at 300m with a 45.70, I guess you can do it with a slug gun.....bit of a rainbow trajectory, but we've all heard the stories of long shots with 45.70's..so...

The Rifled gun that I have will, as a cpl of others have said, shoot a ragged hole at a hundred. I have an old steel tubed Weaver K4 on mine.

Ackley's commnet regarding longer ranges certainly makes sense. If guys were game, I would post a 100M CHALLENGE for slug rifles ...but not having an entry, I need a bit of input regarding how high it is reasonable to set the bar or how many times you need to clear it??? Would two groups (three shots in each) measuring 2" C-to-C be reasonable? Comments, any interest?
