Default hello from UK

Hi all Just bought a Winchester 7000 field thats a 101 not sure you have same over there but in the case with the other chokes is what I was told is a Turkey choke 4" long with a slot in it.
What is the rational on this we only have Turkeys in supermarkets over here
Love to know why it is in UK

Default Is it marked specifically "turkey" on the choke?

Lots of 4 inch "extended chokes" on the market for everything from trap to field so a wrench is not required to quickly change them.
having said that these things do cross the pond quite frequently. I was once offered a really nice leather luggage cased Browning 22 that had been brought to Canada by a member of the armed forces from Europe. told him I would be happy to own the rifle but could not buy the silencer in the luggage case as they were a prohibited device in Canada. he didn't know that when he brought it in.

It must be equivelent to a full choke here. No reason you couldnt shoot a turky over there withit not much point though if you dont have any wild ones

Could be useful to extend the range shooting foxes?

Default hello from England

Yes we have long chokes but this one a Winchester one with long slot in outward end.
Could shoot turkeys but all at supermarkets or butchers

Will think about the fox idea
