Wondering what the conditions a like at Smoke. Don't want to drive down if I can't get to the lake.

It was plowed into campsite, they are doing seismic in area and have echo phones all around lake.
There is room to turnaround with trailer at boat launch.

Ice conditions terrible, there might be 12" ice but 4-6" of that is a layer of flood water in the middle. I took sled out and pretty much everywhere on lake there is 4-6" of floodwater. There is 12-14" snow on lake

I have been looking for whites with not much luck, sight fishing isn't great with all the floodwater and snow

Thanks for the info. Just got back from Sturgeon. Same ice conditions there. A mess. Not fun to walk through. Caught 1 little pike.

That bad? I heard there was lots of snow.
So much that my uncles cabin in the narrows would be hard to get to.
Hopefully we have some cool weather to freeze it.
Was going to head up feb 1st.
It's my go to ice fishing lake.
