Default Which RCBS press?

I bought a RCBS reloading press today at a gun auction, is there any way to tell which model of press it is? or are they all the same presses and what they come with in the kit gives them the name rockchucker etc.?

There should be some initials on the frame, like this:

The one on the left is a Rock Chucker 2. Not too sure about the other. Does yours have any initials?

Reloader Special, it's a lighter duty, lower priced press than the Rockchucker. Some RS models don't offer compound leverage, and some are made of cast aluminum.

I'd say you saved at least 75.00 on what you picked up there, not a bad deal at all.

I think you made out alright. There is a good chance that press will last you a long time. Is this your first bit of reloading gear?

I have an RS5 - it is cast iron with very good linkage...smaller than the Rockchucker...the longest cartridge I use is 308 and it opens wide enough to seat long pointy bullets. You did good for $95 IMO.

Yes it is the first stuff I've ever bought. Guess I'll have to buy the other needed stuff like scale, deburring tool, case trimmer etc. individually.

Yup the buying / gear collecting is just starting. For the money it's tough to beat the Lee perfect powder measurer. Get a decent scale, RCBS 5-0-5 is great, you can find them used for a good price. I like Lyman case prep tools,
Lee makes an easy to use and inexpensive case trimmer.

Don't forget a couple of manuals as well.

Yeah they sold the RCBS 5-0-5 scale, manuals, tumbler, and Uniflow powder measure and a few other things individually, before they sold the press and what I got with it. But I was hesitant on bidding on it all when I wasn't sure If I'd be getting the press or not. Woulda been nice if they would of sold the press first!
