Default Wabamun in the fall

Me and a buddy are heading out to Wab this Saturday morning, any tips for fishing at this time of season? bait? lures? Weather pending, we might be on an inflatable boat or shore. Never been to Wab before so we'll be close to the main marina dock.

thanks

my last trip was about 2 wk ago. tried just about everything I've got.
Crankbait was the winner. I don't like trolling for few reasons, but if you could, troll from the train bridge towards the provincial park along the north side of the lake. I got few decent size jacks when we're going about 7-10kmh. Spoons, I guess they like greenish~ when i was there. my very first day of hooking NO Jack on my 5diamonds.
good luck!!

Is the town still charging for the boat launch? I know they quit sometime before the winter ice-up.

Don't forget about the weak sauce hook size restriction now in effect at Wab

It was cool and a little windy ......... managed a few decent pike but not in the same frequency as usual. It was definitely slower out there.

Water temp was 52 on the west side and surprisingly cooler (just under 50 degrees) on the east side. East side seemed to be a little better yesterday.

All fish were caught in less than 12 feet of water. We found no fish on the deeper structure of the lake. The whites have also moved off the deeper structure and must be in shallow.

The weed beds have begun to lay down so you can troll in 7-8 feet of water without too much frustration cleaning weeds every 100 yards or so - that was a bonus.

We didn't target whites - but they definitely were not where they hang out in the summer (off deep structure). The deeper water was pretty barren and we marked very few fish in any water over 12 feet. water was about 5-8 degrees cooler than I expected for this time of year.

The 10mm hook restriction definitely limits what you can throw or troll out there.
