Default Wabamun Pike

Hey all, went to Wabamun on Saturday with friends and landed this 10lber, however not sure what happened to him. Do you think he was attacked by another fish or is this the result of a fish hitting a propeller.

Do you have closer up photo? Did it look like the skin was ripped off of him?

Strange, wouldn't think another fish or propeller etc would do that.

What it might be is from one of those boils that wab pike like to get. Never seen one that big and usually it looks jelly like but maybe it is just starting to form or something.

Nice pike. As for what happened, I concur with Ravcanoe that doesnot look like another fish or prop did that.

I agree with that as well.

Was there any apparent damage to the meat visible, or just to the skin?

It didn't look like the meat was damaged more less just the skin was missing and bloody. Just never seen a pike in that bad of shape from this disease.

Weird....looks like he was reverse filleted!

I wonder it he go dropped in a boat from a previous catching experience? That doesn't look like a natural wound.

I agree, I've seen lots of pike with wounds and sores but I've never seen anything quite like that.
