Default Edson area/McLeod R.??

Just found out I'm going to be working out of Edson for the next 3-4 weeks?
Wondering how's the fishing in general around there/is McLeod blown out with runoff right now?Not expecting anybody to give up secret honey holes or anyhing......well,unless you want to PM them to a C&R flyfishing only guy,lol......but generally speaking,is there some decent fishing to be found in the area to help pass the evenings?

The McLeod south of Hinton is disgusting right now from all that rain, I'm sure it is worse in Edson.

All the rivers and streams are too swollen right now. Spent last weekend tenting out that way. With that said, its the only area i fish regularly and we have a blast.....

Nice pics, thanks all for the info.Hopefully it'll clear up enough in a couple weeks for me to scratch grayling off the bucket list.

Not sure which rivers were fished but there are several in the area where you can get grayling and trout legally April 1st....

My pics were all from last year during the summer. The above poster is right. Lots of water open before middle of June in the area. However everything was raging and much too high to fish last weekend....

Every river and stream is blown out right now. Whenever is cross one I hope to see it clearing but they aren't

Still haven't wet a line since I've been in Edson

Default Remember rainbow trout are C&R

Friendly reminder; regs changed last year - all rainbow trout from flowing waters must be released from ES3...

The fish are still there when its dirty try right in close to shore ..and its dirty right now .. also try at Hargwen Road or Galaway(a little walk to the river) and find the good holes for later when it clears I have caught 17 inch Grayling in June and nice Rocky Mountain Whitefish ..and you do have to release all the Rainbows but they are still fun
