Default Lakes open

Are there any lakes still open within an hour of spruce grove?

Most trout stocked lakes. I think Star Lake and East pit lake are open all year

Most trout ponds are winter killed, so I'm out of luck there

You just said it...*most*

There are a handful around that don't typically kill, and a couple that are aerated...do a little homework and you can still get into some fish.

Otherwise, if you're not willing to look for the trout you're SOL except for the NSR in places this time of year :hs:

x 2 Do a simple search for Edmonton Area trout ponds or perhaps skip on over to your local 7-11 or Cambodian tire or sporting goods shop pick up the Barry Mitchell guide . That would give you every answer you ever wanted .

Pigeon is open till Apr 16th I believe. You won't be able to keep any Walleye but the rest are open by the looks of the regs.

Good Luck

Just to add to this. Apparently it crapped out because some ultra maroon decided to cast right into the aerator and it got tangled with mono, then crapped out. One moron's selfish idiocy hurts a fishery for everyone.
