Default 250 savage

Hello introduction new here alots of info like the set up easy to search around...I have a question i own a 250-3000 savage bolt action unfortunatly it got D&T it has 2 drilled in the front and 1 drilled at the back... what what i use to mount a scope...

Which model of savage? One of the older ones?

From reading your other post I would say you have a model 1920.My best advice would be to take it to a gunsmith and see if he can match up a base with the holes that someone drilled in the old gal

Default Re; gunsmith

Roy at R&T Firearms in Warbarg is experienced with the older rifles like yours and has a good selection of new and used mounts available to help you find something that would work. Give him a call @ (780)848-2875 if your in the area.

Default .250 Savage

If it's a model 1920 you will have to contend with the 1-14" twist limiting your deer bullets to the shortest available ie Speer 87 +100gr . The first true mt. rifle...........Harold

i took it to a gun smith this morning retired guy started talking with him asked how did you get into gunsmithing,told me his story he used to work for savage back in the day this rifle so far has been quite an exciting road. To think i almost sold her.found new brass and dies today sweet thinking of getting into reloading...Thx for all the reply's guys...
