Default Bear shoulder mount?

I am looking at maybe shoulder mounting the bear I shot. I was just woundering if anyone else has done this and some pics would be nice for some ideas. Any help would be nice. Thanks in advance.

Congrats on your bear Trev.

I have had some in the past and dont really like them.A rug is so much more nicer looking imho. Also with a shoulder mount you are throwing half your bear rug away.

It does seem like a waste not to use the whole rug. The wife will not let me get a full mount.

Here's my archery pumpkin head - pic is not great, but it is exceptional work. The reason I went with the shoulder mount was the big chevron on his chest, which would be lost on a rug. This allowed me to use the rear claws for another keepsake. Remember that when your skinning your bear, the technique for a rug and shoulder mount are very different.

I spot-and stalked a young blonde boar with my bow this spring, and I'm doing a half mount of him. He had no chest markings, but since I already did a rug from last years blackie, I thought I'd mix it up. Also, I think that on a smaller bear, a rug doesn't always showcase them that well.
For skinning my blondie, I split him up the back much like a deer shoulder mount. Hope it works out well.

The photo in Mountainman's post is of my bear. My first bear was done into a rug, the second into that shoulder mount. Of the two, I prefer the shoulder mount as the rug takes up alot of floor space and people are often hurting their toes on the teeth of the rug mount.

Default black bear mount

Some people don't like the agressive mounts, but I like this one. Its the only bear I've done like this. The is a limit to the amount of rugs one can have!

It's not a huge bear, but the mount is excellent.
