Default Camping/Hunting with dog?

After reading the regulations ( unlawful to "be accompanied by a dog while hunting big game or allow a dog to pursue big game except when hunting cougar under the authority of a Cougar Licence, from December 1 to the last day of February (the winter season)." ), I have a question. If I am camping and accompanied by my dog, can I leave him at the camper to go hunting? He would not be with me while in the act of hunting but when transporting my harvest home. What are your thoughts?

As the regulations say [B]WHILE HUNTING if your dog is in camp he is OK and if you are heading home he should be alright. I would not have your weapon out in the open, sealed in a case would be best.

My lab is in camp with us. We use her to get chickens for the soup pot.

Go for it. Great camp company

Thank you for the replies. It is nice to know I can take my best bud out with me. It gets expensive taking him to the kennel every time.

100% correct! I have hauled out several deer with the dogs and stopped by F&W. Every time was fine. The dog can't help or participate in the hunt and the hunt is over when your animal is down and tagged. After that, release the hounds!

Done it many times. He was in his kennel in the canopy of my truck.
Never more than a couple three hours.
I think the dog smell helps repel bears.
