Exclamation Blue Rapids Provincial Recreation Area and Hunting

All right gang some help is needed.

The Evergreen Shooting Club now exists smack dab in this PRA. How many have ever heard of a shooting range existing in a PRA?
Now this PRA is unique it is not directly run by the Province, but instead it is run by a local group of stake holders.(steering committee)
This group is looking for input on continued hunting opportunities in the PRA.
They want feedback from Albertans.
If we fail to get adequate feedback on this issue, we will loose some of the better public access hunting in Alberta.

Check out this link:
http://www.epbrparkscouncil.org/

Go to the FAQ section, then go to the feedback section.

Please tell them to keep hunting open, tell them the process to develope the whole Park and Rec. area was un democratic.

How this shakes out will impact further land grabs by Alberta Parks and Tourism.

Hi Dick, it kind of smells like what happened when the Rock Lake PRA secretly turned into Rock Lake Provincial Park. The public consultation process took place after the fact. Was the Evergreen Shooting Club not considered a stakeholder? Also, isn't hunting prohibited in all other PRA's in Alberta?

While it may be run by a third party, Parks cannot divest reposibility for it. They will have the BIG hand in saying what will or will not be permitted.

I will go provide feedback, but I have seen more than one instance Parks made promises to local stakeholders, only to change once the designation was made.

Dick, my Dad is having a war of words with Mr. MacIntosh on this whole issue. It is unreal how these lieing turds push their agenda with no regard for local stakeholders, and their input. Folks, a fair amount of "traditional" hunting land was taken away with this innitiative, and the locals could use your support, and besides like Dick said, it maybe your backyard next......we never thought it would happen in ours, but alas, here we are..........

Default Hunting in PRA

Read something lately about a law change regarding carrying firearms in parks, that the laws may be changed to allow it. Jump on this now!!! Hopefully if enough of us say something we might not get screwed once again, all we can do is try.
