Default Attracting Bears

Where is the line between baiting and attracting? I am working in really good bear area, (no baiting zone) but I can't leave the rig for hours on end for spotting. If I could get some bears coming closer to me it would be great.

If I set up a honey burn, or mixed up a spray, is that considered baiting?

Hoochie Papa,
Absolutely it is considered baiting. In the Wildlife Act "bait" means any bait that consists of a food attractant, including a mineral and any representation of a food attractant.

I used to hunt around Fox Creek a lot. Whereabouts are you? I know some good bear areas. PM me.

What about burning honey? Baiting or scent attracting?

Does that include those incense sticks too? If so, I guess my only option is calling.

Female in heat scent. Net search "James Valley Scent" and you should find some real good bear attractants that do not fall into the food catagory, instead they attract by the mating urge.
