Hey everybody just wondering for all of you axis owners, is the bolt polymer because im thinking of purchasing one and the only thing stopping me is i cant find anywhere on the internet confirming that it is polymer

No, it is cheap steel. The stock is cheap plastic. And so is the magazine and the magazine catch.

It supposedly shoots well despite the cheapness. And is leaps and bounds better than the 770.

I opted for the HunterXP package it has the steel mags well worth $$$

They are great rifle, I own 2 and they are tack drivers.

Bought one for step daughter to learn on. Shoots great but I agree with the plastic mag is awful. Get the savage 111 hunter not much more and better quality.

I hate to advertise for companies but these rifles are shooters. I have seen 2 straight outa the box 1 in .308 and the other in .270 shoot just as good as 1 cooper and 1 custom build remington. mind you this was at 100 yards off sand bags but the 270 was as accurate as my cooper out of my gun vise to 400 yards! we pumped 200 rounds outa that baby 2 weeks ago and it held 2" at 200 I'm sold not the best scope but really name a gun out there at this price that can do this!
