A snakehead versus northern pike fight in a small pool or tank.

A great potential for gambling types.

I'd throw a twenty spot in that pool.

Well, with any luck the eel pie they are making for Auntie Betty, might just clear up the lamprey issue in the GL...lol

Apparently the govt had to drain the pond and when they did, they caught the northern snakehead (along with many more non-native fish and amphibians).

There was an old lady who swallowed a fly
I don't know why she swallowed a fly - perhaps she'll die!

There was an old lady who swallowed a spider,
That wriggled and wiggled and tiggled inside her;
She swallowed the spider to catch the fly;
I don't know why she swallowed a fly - Perhaps she'll die!

There was an old lady who swallowed a bird;
How absurd to swallow a bird.
She swallowed the bird to catch the spider,
She swallowed the spider to catch the fly;
I don't know why she swallowed a fly - Perhaps she'll die!

There was an old lady who swallowed a cat;
Fancy that to swallow a cat!
She swallowed the cat to catch the bird,
She swallowed the bird to catch the spider,
She swallowed the spider to catch the fly;
I don't know why she swallowed a fly - Perhaps she'll die!

There was an old lady that swallowed a dog;
What a hog, to swallow a dog;
She swallowed the dog to catch the cat,
She swallowed the cat to catch the bird,
She swallowed the bird to catch the spider,
She swallowed the spider to catch the fly;
I don't know why she swallowed a fly - Perhaps she'll die!

There was an old lady who swallowed a cow,
I don't know how she swallowed a cow;
She swallowed the cow to catch the dog,
She swallowed the dog to catch the cat,
She swallowed the cat to catch the bird,
She swallowed the bird to catch the spider,
She swallowed the spider to catch the fly;
I don't know why she swallowed a fly - Perhaps she'll die!
There was an old lady who swallowed a horse...

She's dead, of course!

In no way endorsing Snakeheads but it seems that Snakeheads and Asian Carp carry a similar "fear" The impact of the filter feeding Asian carp on water sheds is well documented. However it is harder to find legit/un biased reports of Snakeheads having a similar impact despite the fears.

Florida, has had them for awhile but is a real miss match of non natives. The Potomac, can't find anything where natives have been wiped out.

Again not supporting Invasives/Non Natives but I do tire of the over the top fallacies put forth by the media. Just look at the absurd reports over the snakehead found in BC--people being advised not to go near the pond with Children or pets---

The discussion needs to keep focused on facts not fiction (no I do not want to see them up here)

Hate to see Invasive Snakeheads displace our Native brown Trout
