I have one of the 80 gig ones for those long drives at work. But I listen to a lot of metal and classic rock and stuff like that. Some of the main groups I like listening to are:
Black Sabbath
Led Zeppelin
Bob Seger
BTO
CCR
Fleetwood Mac
John Hiatt
Lynyrd Skynyrd
Metallica
Megadeth
Mudvayne
Three Inches of Blood
Nirvana
Pink Floyd
Rolling Stones
Steppenwolf
The Doors
Tragically Hip
The Who
Tool
I have lots more but that's the main stuff.

I also do not own a "ipod" but it is an mp3 player and it holds songs and I if I bought an actual "ipod" that leaves alot less money for hunting and fishing stuff. I don't need brand names if there is something else that is just as functional and durable as the heavily promoted brand names.
Maybe it is because I am a minimalist and a cheap skate.

I just play mine on shuffle. Not quite 4000 songs on there and looking at this list there is a bunch I am missing.
But no one has mentioned Feist, Tunstall, Dido, Krall or Melua.
How about Styx, Trooper, Streetheart, Guess Who, Steve Miller, CCR.
Then Motley Crue, Rammstein, NIN, Kiss and Godsmack
What collection would be complete without Yanni, Kenny G, Liona Boyd, Frank Mills, Peter Frampton
Mellencamp, Cochrane, Collins, Chilliwack
BB King, Powder Blues, ....
That's right you only asked for top 10. Sorry.

(in no particular order)
The Cranberries
Enigma
Evanescence
Hayley Westenra (#1)
Katherine Jenkins
Sarah Brightman
Sinead O'Conner (#2)
Vangelis
Pink Floyd
Celtic Woman
...all 500+ songs of them...

Not sure what an Ipod is or a mp3 but if I had one I'd probably just listen to whatever radio station that played somethin calm and melodic. i don't like noisy busy music.

Stompn Tom thinks hes a rockstar Kev seriously, he was so pizzd off when the crowd started moshing and body surfing. Btw there are a couple more "industry" guys here, but were all in the security end of it, so we know who the real pains are. Heck SOME of us have actually got into it with certain bands...I ll let him tell the story if he wants

Stompin' Tom is a rockstar, deservedly so. And I'd be choked if people were moshing while I was trying to watch him.

Apparently real men do not like to hear women sing LOL. My teenaged sons roll their eyes if I mention a female artist. LOL
Chrissy Hynde and Mellissa Etheridge CAN rock!
I do like that homewrecking hussy Sheryl Crow too ... maybe gonna buy me some bike shorts.
Krall's hubby is mucho cool. Grew up on his stuff in university.

But yes, you have to be open-minded. My 17 year old came home a week ago with a mohawk! LOL But he still got a promotion at work supervising some kids who are older than him, so he must be OK.

Ah, technology.... this past year while I was waiting for the deer to show up I'd pull out my blackberry and fire off a few work e-mails LOL. One time I looked up from doing that and there is a moose standing not 20 yards in front of me, looking at me.... no tag, no shot. DANG!
