Default South Saskatchewan Framework workshops

You know that these meetings will be full of eco-zealots just itching to tell the government what they think YOU should be allowed to do on this public land. And you know that we have a provincial government that's not afraid of wagging their finger and enacting nanny laws. "What kinds of opportunities are offered here" is nanny-speak for 'what should we outlaw?'
So if you want to be heard, you might want to show up!

public land + free-for-all = public loss

Sorry, I think it just makes sense to talk about what should and shouldn't happen on our land. Ghost/Waiparous is an example of what happens otherwise

Thanks Thumper,

Here is the South Sask. Regional Plan recommendations.

https://www.landuse.alberta.ca/Docum...P2-2011-03.pdf

Recommendation 5.3.14.2

PAID ACCESS TO HUNT ON PRIVATE AND PUBLIC LAND!

Quote:
5.3.14.2 Respect private property rights by developing a suite of conservation and
stewardship tools (e.g., economic and market-based incentives,
conservation easements, transferable development credits, mitigation
banking and paid access for hunting) that can be voluntarily used by
landowners and disposition holders to help sustain biodiversity.

Quit the conspiracy theories. Glad these groups are taking the initiative. I'm happy to attend and support the idea that our public lands deserve more SRD resources and a bit more balance in the conservation direction.

If those are the groups that you want determining how and where you recreate in S Alberta, then that's great. If not, then show up and speak your piece.
