Not cheap, and large format, so not something you can just tuck in your pocket. Also, the laminated pages make it difficult to mark your own notes on them.
But, excellent quality, well bound, and the size and resolution make them very useful. I've bought one for a favorite WMU, and plan on buying more.

Just get a topography map they are easy to read and if needed you can navigate from them with a compass. They show all your changes in elevation, rivers, roads, creeks and canyons. You just have to understand how to read them and it is so simple.

Oh, I can read a topo map. They just don't show any of the oil, gas, and logging activity that has taken place in the last 10 to 20 years! Anyone know how recent the aerial photos are in those atlases?

The aerial photos in most of these atlases are 10+ years old.
I found a good topo and a GPS to be a lot more useful.

They are very pricey, especially when the break each WMU into 2 maps, double the income I guess. They look god but I would spend my money on a good GPS instead.

If you know anyone at SRD Forest Protection, they usually have updated aerial maps, with pipelines, leases, lease roads, & cutblocks. You may get a good deal.
