Default Aqua Vu AV700

Anybody have this camera? Any info on how well it works or doesn't work? Couldn't find much for reviews on the net.

If you're not really hung up on the on screen "compass" the Marcum VS380 is a better camera for your money.

Ok, thanks. The sale price on the AV700 is $299 (original $459) and the VS380 is regularly $279. I just figured something priced that much higher would be a higher quality product. I wish I could find a video or something that reviewed all these types of cameras.

I totally understand what you're saying...I went through the same thing myself. I have heard that the Aqua-Vu units are kinda hit and miss, some better than others. I've been fortunate enough to see the two cameras side by side, and you could see a lot more with the Marcum.

I don't think the Aqua-Vu comes with a panner either, so that may be worth considering as well.

I have the aquaview and am very happy with it, havent killed the battery yet in one sitting and I fish long days. doesnt help when the water is pea soup, but I can point it down the hole in that case and usually see my bait from 5 or 6 feet up. I like the heavy duty cable as well. The case is crap, but my fish tv had the same problem. camera itself is great.
Took this off the screen with my digital camera in 8 feet of very murky water in December

This was taken at Mayatan...reasonably clear water, about 15' deep, very sunny and 4-5" of snow cover.

This one was at Wab, about 10 FOW and a little less snow, but it was the end of a cloudy day and the lighting was less than ideal. Camera is about 5' from the bait.

I dont worry about a panner, usually have the camera down beside my chair, just reach down and turn it by hand if I want to look around. easier to pull the camera up if you get a good fish too if its close to hand
