Both manufacturers make many different models of bows, they all have their distinct shooting traits, but both make very well built bows, as do Hoyt, Bowtech, PSE, Quest, Elite, and others. (I'm a Hoyt shooter myself). Best thing is to shoot as many different bows as you can, and see which one feels best in your hand for the budget you have.

Any particular reason you are just comparing these two brands, and any particular model you want comment on?

neither of those bows offer a solid back wall,

everything else I would give to the mathews...also depends on which model...

I've been shooting a Mathews monster for a year now and I love it. I haven't shot every bow out there ans my last bow was a bear instinct. I shot only a bowtech destroyer and a z7 and all of them felt good to me. I liked the monster logo lol.

Default hoyt wins

I fell in love with the mathews z7 extreme but went out to the sherwood park archery range and shot both the mathews bow and the hoyt rampage xt. They both shot exactly the same very smooth quiet and dead in your hand. The only difference was the price. Mathews was $910 and the hoyt was $700. could not see any reason to spend the extra two hundred for the Mathews. I have the hoyt and it is deadly. Am shooting tight groups at 60 yrds and only at 65 lbs.
