Default prescribed antique firearms

I'm wondering if anybody out there knows more than I do about the conditions required to be eligible for antique status (most likely everybody does!) What I'm wondering is, would an early 1890's double action colt qualify? It's chambered in 44-40 wcf, which is where the problem lies. Is this calibre included in the antique clause? Or not? Thanks for any help!

You should really ask on CGN. There is a bunch of guys there that could help you out.

Well, that's where I found the item in question, and don't really want to draw to much attention! Although probably just did!

I wont say a word. For what its worth I am 98% sure that is a no-go on the prescribed antique status, due to the fact its in 44-40. (as you mentioned)

You are correct. While you were replying I was on the cfc page, and 44-40 is not elligable for antique status. Dang.
