Default Old Brass To use or not to use?

Thought I would reload for my .270 Win. Neighbor gave me his old brass. It was tarnished quite bad and some of it was even pitted. Ran it through my vibrating tumbler.
It didn't come out very good. You can still see small pink spots the size of a needle.
If its tarnished like that on the outside, I assume inside is worse.
Would tumbling with stainless steel pins (wet) remove the corrosion, or just go buy new brass?
Some of the brass looks ok, but still quite old.
Thanks again.
