Need your 2c Furnace advice/do's/dont's

Just bought first house need to do furnace ASAP:

-What to look for and consider?
-Trane/Carrier/Lennox?
-Going rates approx?
-Do's/Dont's
-General advice.

Its a 1300 sqft bungalow.
