Are you feeding your prisoner rice? Mwahahahaha!!!
What are you using for bait? Have you ever caught anything else wierd in your trap?
When my Grandpa told me that when he was young, he caught a baby crow and taught it to dance and all sorts of stuff, then one day it was sitting on the rain barrel havin' a drink and it fell in......... glug glug glug........duuuuuuuu!!!!!!!!
Wonder if you could train magpies that old or is that a young'n?

lol i dont think you could train this thing it was pretty wild. Its an adult bird. All im using for bait is a balled up piece of bread with cheese whiz on the bottom to stick the bread to the bait pan. This way they have to peck the pan to get the bait. If you dont stick the bait to the bait pan with something a lot of crafty critters will just pluck the bait off with out triggering the trap. So far i've caught 2 squirrels and two pies in this trap. This time I threw in a smelt for bait too just for added effect. Probally didnt need the smelt beacuse I caught the first pie on just bread and cheeze whiz, but I figured I'd throw in something with a smell to see if id get another one. Turns out I did I think the reason im starting to catch magpies is because I left my trap out all winter to dull the shine (magpies apparently get spooked by shinny stuff)

Does anyone know if it's legal to trap piea in Edmonton, we have a ton and the city no longers pops them with a small shotgun. It's really nice to sleep with the windows open and be woken up at 5:30 in the morning. I might just have to break out my squirrel trap that I used to trap a family of squirrels in my attic a few years back. A funny thing happened when I had a squirrel in a trap in my attic, I had someone break in thru the basement window and upon kicking in the kitchen door the squirrel was making so much noise it scared them off before thay could steal anything. Let's just say that squirrel found a nice new home with lots of female squirrels.

But look out pies.
