Default Dall sheep prices?

What are fair prices to be paying for a Dall sheep hunt? Looking at outfitters prices can very $6-8000. I understand you get what you pay for.

Try $15-$22 K for a dall sheep

6-8 might get you a goat hunt.

I think he meant the price from one outfitter to the next can vary from 6000 to 8000 difference. Thats how I read it.

That's right. So back to my question. Is the guy who pays $22Gs a sucker cuz there's $15000 hunts out there or are the $15000 hunts scetchy? As in smaller sheep, Bad guides, poor hunting areas. What is a fair price?

Personally I would pay a bit more and go with a high end outfit in the Yukon or NWT. I'm sure people kill great rams on cheaper Alaskan hunts, but I feel the sheep are better managed in the Yukon and NWT. I went with arctic red river a couple years ago and had a unreal trip.

Pretty much. I've heard that the Anchorage airport is usually full of horror stories come hunting season. Check the success rate on the cheaper hunts vs the more expensive. Most of the outfits in the NWT go 100% on rifle dall hunts. If you can hike and shoot straight you'll get a sheep.

From what i have found you can go for $12-15K in Alaska but its kind of sketchy there (first hand experience on this one)

Yukon/NWT your in the $22K range for a single species dall hunt. If I ever do a dall hunt again it will be with a Yukon or NWT outfit. I'm leaning towards Arctic Red at this point because I also want one of those giant mountain caribou they have.

From the looks of things trophy quality is not typically as good on average in Alaska compared to the Yukon or NWT as well. I will post a pic of my finished dall mount from Alaska when Marco is finished with it.

Here Scott. I don’t have time to do it the proper way but now at least everyone can click and see. The Dall photos have format problem so not sure if I can get those up right now. I’ll try later
