Default Welder/ gunsmith needed

I have a model 96 swede that was sporterized years ago. And after many many years the brazing used to hold the bolt handle let go. So now I need a 'smith that would be willing to either silver solder or re braze it. I'm in the coronation area. Any suggestions?

The bolt handles on the Swedish 96 Mauser were not brazed on in the factory someone must have modified it at one time.

Try that gun store in Bashaw.

Had the same thing happen to me awhile back. Any welder should be able to help you out. Doesn't have to be a gun smith.

If you have trouble finding someone willing to solder it, and you don't think you are ever going to want it pulled apart again for any reason, just get them to tig weld it. Just ask that they don't use any filler, only fuse it by melting with the tig torch.

Could be WAY more helpful if you told us WHERE. Can think of a couple who could do the job.

The bolt handle was cut off re shaped then brazed back on. My father did it many years ago. But his health and emotions have faltered in the last year ( we lost mom last May) so rather not bother him with it. Please pm me any contact info for Will Porter jr
