Default Any elk action yet?

Anybody getting any bugles yet. might still be a bit early, just seeing if any one has had any luck with calling yet.

I heard half a dozen bugles yesterday morning. They didn't sound like hunters at all, varied pitch and had chuckles at the end. Sadly none of them came my way.

In a lot of areas it's still early. There are pockets where elk get at it early. I seen 4 groups of cows/small Bulls, probably 400 in total the past 3 days. No big Bulls with cows yet.

Unfortunatley every pecker wood in the country is bugling their faces off educating have the elk in the province before they really even get going. Love it watching guys drive into a field with the elk watching and the srick the grunt tube out the window and let it rip.

Wrong trees to be Suffield. The story I got was south of GP... Wouldn't surprise me there's a few big bulls killed up north every year. Could be a farm elk too. It's in a class of its own for sure.

Nice bull for sure, but I'd like to see a real pic of it. You shoot something like that there's no need to set it up in front of the camera and stand five yards back. Get up close, hold the head up, let us see what the animal ACTUALLY looks like. IMO, standing way back like that makes it look like its not big enough and you have to use trickery to make it "better".

This bull is from BC , so don't worry all you city folk you don't need to flock to the saddle hills to look for its brother.

World class bull there. Congrats to the hunter. Pics probably don't do him justice either.

Amazing bull, as big as they get, tine lenght is unreal. With access roads everywhere, wolves, cougar, grizzly, year round hunting, hard winters and a 3 mth long legal season I have to really question that it came from the "GP" area, unless it excaped from a farm. Still a gorgeous bull.

There's been quite a few 350-390" Bulls shot around over the years. It wouldn't take much for a 370" to hit 400"
