I think everyone should buy a useless restricted gun just for a zombie killer. I'm thinking something along the lines of a beretta cx4 storm in 45 acp.

Actually I think you can get the storm in an unrestricted version (they just install a slightly longer barrel I believe). (BUT it still looks scary to gun grabbers)

They just aren't hungry for brains yet!

We all need to be prepared for zombies. Don't discredit 22lr for the job as we will have little time to drill out pinned mags. Two 25 shot steel lips together is a lot of head shots and extra ammo fits in all your pockets easily. And a backup coach gun in case they get in your perimeter. I'm ready!

No need to drill out pins, do yourself a favour and watch for a deal on a Pietta pps-50. My 22lr runs off a 50 round drum mag, and has only jammed a few times off of 1000 rounds. Think about the zombie body count with 50rds and a red dot!!!!

Ummmmm... no thanks.
What you need to clean up that place is a large auger type snowplow or a payload of napalm.

Bet you wish you could just call in a fire mission sometimes...lol

going by memory something in the hood of around 2200-2400 fps and .375 to .416" in diam. is what the african stuff i've read will get you into an elephant brain reliably...i wanna say launch at 2350-ish and impact velocity around 2200 fps was what i remember without going too crazy on front area size of bullet (ie; too big in diam. and they didn't penetrate as deep as the smaller .375/.416 stuff going a bit faster than the big t-rex's and nitro cartridges etc).....not sure what can get you to those specs but that would be a good target area to head for

i'm thinkin some hotter loaded 300 grainers in a 45-70 to get velocity up would be dandy big bear medicine, or even a 30-06 with some 180's to 220's

not sure i'd pick a slugger as a bear stopper, huge frontal areas and not much speed, about 1775 fps real world out of a 20 gauge federal barnes and 22" barrel and that is a i think a 1900 fps rated round in a way long barrel...and the smaller diam. of the 20 guage likely out penetrate the even fatter and slower 12 gauge stuff

I wonder if the slug pushes through the 00 a bit making them spread fast. This would be interesting to pattern from 20 to 100 yards. I can't see any slug load being popular for home protection as overpenetration is a concern.
Maybe bears though

My favorite Zombie load is a half dozen nickels in a 12 gauge shell.

If you throw a couple dimes in there to... the silver content will also ensure effectiveness against other creatures of the night like rogue faeries, werewolves, and vampires.

Don't forget to double-tap.

Should do the job, quite well ... especially at close range!
