Haven't checked my dad's yet but looks like he should have gotten his trophy antelope. He never got the chance to go with me on my last couple antelope hunts (been like 3 years since my last tag) but hopefully I can accompany him on his. One of the few big game animals my dad's interested in hunting. He loves his bird hunting though.

Well that answers my question. Number of sheep tags available has dropped by at least 20% since last year. Hopefully I can get in next year. I spent a crapload of money on general tags today, and have a bedding area lined up for a possible general archery moose.

Good, thanks! Now I can call Alberta Relm(again) and ask them why they keep screwing up my turkey tag.

Not all priority 8's got their tag, I can guarantee that.

0.59% chance of getting drawn for bison.
Now I don't feel like so much of a failure.

Always interesting. Drew a tag with 11 (yes, it was 11 before the draw) but the summary shows drawn with a 10. Odd.

So what is the issue? If people with 10 drew, then you should have drawn with 11.

Personally, I don't think F&W have any idea regarding how many different types of species reside in the WMUs in Alberta. I'd go so far as to say they don't have a clue.

I'm in the process of finding this out, because I'm with you.

On a side note, I was told that moose went to draw only in the 500 zones for archery because they found archery was responsible for over 18% of the total harvest. I'm going to be really interested in finding out what percentage of the harvest is taken during archery this fall now that archery is draw only. 32 tags available in my zone by draw, 64 total taken last year and the moose population is still on a steady incline. Now they have taken away the archery hunt, it's obvious that population numbers have nothing to do with their laws.

I think there is something fishy going on with the players in the system and I am searching for answers. I have been in contact with a few people so far, all are beating around the bush and not willing to directly answer my questions, mostly giving a vague response but not committing to hard numbers. I am making progress however, and I'm going to keep pressing until they give me the numbers they are working with. If they can't come up with the actual numbers, we have a problem.

It shows all the 0's being drawn for the last two season in Suffield for cow. I applied for the first season in Jan and then second etc. I was a zero and none of them were drawn for the first season in Jan, but the way I see it I should have gotten my second or third choice......

What I don't get is guys complaining that the tags got reduced, but then the year after the tag allowances go up they cry there is no deer

Just let them manage the resource. More animals isn't a bad thing.
