Default Smith & Wesson riffles

Back in the 80s many riffles were sold ,friend of mine bought and sold his 7 mag Smith & Wesson riffle after owning it only a few years . On the barrel it even said Snipper riffle 7 mag. I am sure he wished he kept it . There were many Cal back then.
Never see any posting of these riffles.
Does any one out there have one ?

Thats what said..sniper .
Gun store in Edmonton told him they were built for the police and had 5 that went threw his store. thought it odd for them to be using 7 mm mag for a sniper riffle.
looked like a regular hunting riffle with flat black barrel and stock

The S&W rifles were Howa rifles, built on the same action as a Weatherby Vanguard.

Unlike you, I don't need Google to see that the S&W rifles that I owned were built on the same action as the Vanguard rifles that I own.

As per some other posters, same as Howa 1500's. They were typically made in Japan. I had one and it was solid but had a heavy trigger and just ok accuracy.

As I recall, S&W rifles were made by Husqvarna and used the Husqvarna HVA action.

I have owned S&W rifles, they were definitely made on the Howa 1500 action.

Some of the Smith & Wesson rifles were manufactured by Husqvarna.

I've got one - Dad bought it in 1981. This one is based on a Howa action, just like the Weatherby Vangaurd. I bought a B&C composite stock for it to lighten it up and used it during last year's season. Solid and very accurate.
