Nice getaway. I can see why you can't wait till December.
What was the problem with the CO?

It wasn't actually an issue with the CO. There are 3 quarters of private land in the middle of my line, that is where the cabin was. They let anyone use if for years, summer and winter and this year they decided to lock it up and put up private property signs, so I wasn't able to use it this year. It actually works out better with my trailer anyway.

Thanks. I was lucky to find it. It was listed on kijiji for almost 4 hours before I picked it up. Been looking for one for a few years. Have to act fast or they're gone

I don't know about delux but it sure looks perfect for a trapping family. Light and bright log interior. Hard surface floor easy to clean up. Enough bunks for the crew. Sweet setup. Good luck and may you and yours make many happy memories out there.

Hopefully headed out there in the next few weeks and should have some more pics to post. I'd llove to see what kind of skinning sheds people have set up. Was going to try and build one this summer so I can keep the cabin a little cleaner but ran out of time. Hopefully next year

Mud, it's built on pipe piles so the many windows are up fairly high from the ground, it's pine sided inside, cedar outside, a couple of 40' beetle killed pine in the ceiling that stick out over the deck, one bedroom, nothing fancy really, off the grid. Still researching solar, I bought a 50' tower but the big bush doesn't allow much wind generation around the cabin so may not put it up.
We put a small garden in to hopefully have fresh veggies during hunting season, our first try at that, we may have to fence it next year.

Sounds like a really nice place to go and just enjoy everything around you and to get away from it all.
Have you thought about solar for charging batteries? They have come a long ways and will charge even with limited sun exposure time, especially if your not using the batteries on a full time basis. They'll just recharge back up when your not there

I don't have pics, but a distant relative on my wife's side has an amazing set up on his trap line in BC. I really don't have the time and money for one, but I tell myself if I were to tragically lose my family, I would soothe my soul on a trap line.
Thanks for sharing all the pics.

That is awesome, Immigrant!
What are the details? dimensions, build time, rough cost to build, etc. (if you don't mind sharing)

I built it 12x20 with a 8 foot deck, on skids so I can move it if I ever have to. I should have gone 12x28 to have room for a "private" bedroom for not much more $.But current dimensions are ok.It fits everything I need to be comfortable. The build time took me just about all summer (But i work shift and took some vacation in between as well) I got a friend to help with the framing but it was all me after that. I never built something like this so it was a lot of "how to videos" on youtube. It is a bit of an overkill with insulation, trim etc. but I wanted it to last a long time - a place to build some memories with the kids.
I also wired in an inverter with a quiet (inverter) generator charging the batteries. The generator, inverter, wiring, batteries etc probably added $2000 to the cost but solar panels did not get enough sun to charge the batteries.
I think I am about $12,000 all in, the stove and the tin roof being the most expensive part of the build.
The best part of it is the kids love it. it was a big surprise for them

Fake rock. It is from Nextstone. I did some on my house but had a warranty claim on probably half of what they installed. They replaced it and told me to keep what they ripped off. It worked just perfect on the cabin!!
