Mississauga to vote on Bonnie Crombie's motion to support changing the lyrics to ‘O Canada’ -
Now they want to change the anthem to “Our home and native land” to “Our home ON native land”.
This is getting ridiculous. And you know damn well it will be changed and passed.

"We see the rise".....wth does that mean? The rise of communism???? Some dont see it so l think it should be removed......

Nothing warms the heart more than a "faux woke" white (yay, I think that I coined a new phrase) politician, riding on the coat tails of another musician that decided to combat fading into obscurity by changing the words to our national anthem during the NBA all star weekend in February.
They can sing whatever they want in the GTA, I'm sure that Bonnie can really relate to the struggles of Indigenous Peoples. Famous people and politicians are such a bunch of phony flakes. Although every corporation also gets on board with feigned disingenuous causes of the day, which are quickly forgotten when the next cause du jour comes along.

This thread actually explains a lot. No patriotism, no respect for the blood spilled for this country, no reverence for deity. Just no respect for anything. And we wonder why everyone selfishly wants a handout? We wonder why no one respects anyone else? The narcissistic self entitlement runs far deeper than the woke. We have a problem alright. An anthem has next to zero to do with patriotism, respect for blood spilled, or deity. Much the same as the King or Queen of England. I respect respect deserving people, have never looked for a handout in my life, am polar opposite of woke, and think you're miles off track on this one.

When it is time to sing our national anthem, I rise from my seat and remove my hat, then sing the the English version I was taught 65 years ago.....
I DON'T CARE WHAT THE GUY STANDING BESIDE ME THINKS OR IS SINGING.
I proudly wear a poppy and take a minute of silence of respect and thanks and still say the Lords Prayer......
In my mind I am doing what is right, they can't take that away from me.....
