Default Scribner's Gun Auction

Holy Cr*p, the gun prices were through the roof, and the ammo prices were just as bad. $15.00 for 20 fmj 7.62x39. Wow, a lot of people need to get out more.

It was good for a laugh. I had a good time. The prices were so far out of line, I couldn't justify spending any money. Heck I even had the wife's blessing on the shotty I wanted, I just couldn't do it. $280 for an SKS. $400 for a Ruger Charger, new at WSS they are only $319. I hope the guys who did the buying aren't regretting their purchases, the sellers sure aren't.

My favorite was the Bushmaster spotting scope, $250(I think) after the sale was at Cdn Tire they had a whole shelf of them NIB for $99.

I've done stupid things at auctions too, just not today.

Got to meet Ken, there is no way he fits in an '07 vette.

They were on sale a few weeks ago for $50. The prices were definitely out to lunch. Most of the items went for far too much. How about the price on the gun locker, or the duck decoys.

We laughed about that safe until we were half way home. There is going to be a pile of buyers remorse setting in about now.

Did anyone see what that Weatherby Vanguard NIB sold for?

The only good thing was that I won the $100 bill at the end.

I laughed at the young lad that paid $250 for the mossberg plinker - $160 at Magnum.

$400 for the charger is about what he would have had to pay to go into WSS buy it and come home.

The vanguard "rifle of the year" went for around $800 I think.

The biggest laugh we were having was the phrase "You got a good deal on that one".

not many people got a good deal.

Congrats on the win. I couldn't force myself to suffer through to the end.

It was a good day, got to come home and prove to the wife that firearms are a better investment than stocks and bonds.

They got $900 for the Weatherby. You are right about his catch phrase, everytime we heard that, we sorta laughed at each other. Yup some one got soaked again.
