Default Vancouver Where to stay?

After the Calgary Gun Show on Friday the Mrs. and I are heading to Vancouver for the Easter weekend. Kind of a spur of the moment trip. Going to be hitting up some site seeing and hitting the trendy shops to make her happy. Got an appointment to look at a new to me boat Saturday and planning on catching the Canucks vs. Chicago game on Sunday night. Looking for any recommendations
on where to stay while there.
Thx in advance

Take a look at the Hampton Inn & Suites. They are right across the road from BC Place. And only a short walk up the hill, 2 or 3 blocks, to downtown shopping. Nice rooms and when I stayed there a few years back the rates were very reasonable.

Ok, I just checked their rates, about $250. That is double what I paid. Nice Hotel but you can do better. I have also stayed at another place up on Burrard, I can't remember the name right now, it was not mainstream but it was very reasonably priced and I had a suite. Also very posh. If I can find it I'll update.

Hampton is a great place. We paid about 150/night for a room in December for a week. Great location and service. Awesome rooftop deck for having a coffee.

Fairmont waterfront. $300/night. Great views, downtown. Guaranteed you'll get some action.

Take a quick look at VRBO for Vancouver or North Vancouver. I've used it quite a few times and have never been disappointed, in fact I'm going to list my place in Haida Gwaii with them in the future.
