Final ice trip of the year!
Hey guys, headed out for one last kick at er tommorow. I live in alix and I can’t decide between pine, buffalo, or sylvan. Just looking for numbers of any species don’t care about size. Most reports have all three being pretty slow.
Any suggestions??

Cross Sylvan Lake off
Was there yesterday from noon til 5 pm. Didn't mark a single fish between 15' down to 7'. Some guys out deeper were seeing perch & whitefish at 35' & 45'. I was hoping to get walleye or pike. I drove in at Range Rd 21

Ended up going to buffalo. Few different spots, fished from a 9am to 6pm and never got a single bite. Seen one guys catch a small pike, that was it all day. Don’t know what happened to that place..

We leave monday morning for a week of walleye fishing with buddies in Ontario. They've been slaying them! Can't wait, it's been 11 years since I last went there to fish.

Weather has been terrible except for Friday and fishing slower than normal with the unsettled weather but we've managed to put aside enough keeper size sauger and a few decent pike for a fish fry every night, our limit of walleye to bring home with us and a bonus 40" pike I caught soaking a herring on a quick strike rig in
1 1/2 feet of water. What a challenge trying to get a big fish lined up and get it into an 8" hole in water so stained you can barely see down 3" and with 4' of ice and only a foot to foot and a half of water between the ice bottom and lake bottom not to mention tweek a 10" long herring to hang just below the ice when you can't see it!
It's been an amazing trip with my wife and friends. It's come to an end far too soon. We had two nights with the northern lights dancing all over the sky. What a view from my buddies camp back in the bush. His camp is only a 15 minute snowmobile ride from the hydro dam my father lived at when my grandfather was a dam tender for Ontario hydro back in the late 40's to early 50's (47-54) and the area was so remote that what is now a 15 minute snowmobile ride was in those days a two hour trip by what roads there were. I can't wait to show my father some of the videos I took as we blasted alongside the banks of the river headed to the lake to fish. I'll post a few pics of our adventures when I'm back into some better cellular coverage.

Finished off the season this morning with a nice big pike for the smoker. Had a great March. Found a spot away from the crowds and actually enjoyed good fishing again. My spot was bombarded by nice big ling this morning which are rare in the lake I've been fishing They all went back but a cool way to finish off the season, they were spawned out already. Great season. I guess it's trout time now, got my MOJO back. The jawjacker really improved my numbers.
