Default Question about partner license

Question:

My buddy wants to go hunting with me this fall. He has no PAL no wildlife Certificate and nothing but a WIN and only goes for fishing couple of times a year. Should he take "Alberta First time Hunter Education" and get kinda "partner license" if coming with me this fall?

Many thanks

Does he want to actually hunt and maybe shoot something? If so he will need to take the "Hunter Training and Conservation education course" (if that is what they still call it?). Then he can get the proper WIN and a hunting licence. And he can hunt with you borrowing a gun from you.

If he is just going to be along to watch, listen and learn, nothing is really needed.

Thanks! Does that mean he couldn't even carry my gun on his shoulder if he not want to take "the "Hunter Training and Conservation education course". If so, I will whip him behind to get the course done before the season..
