Default 11th hour draw question...

Does the priority I gained for antlered elk apply to the draw for either sex camp wainwright elk?
Alberta relm doesn't make it very clear...

And there's my next question :
What the hell does RELM mean anyway?

No sir it does not. Either sex for wainwright is code 41, antlered is 18. Need to draw the either sex code 41 for wainwright. There was an opportunity to roll over existing code 41 priority into antlered or antlerless a few years ago when they changed things up at Cypress Hills (Cypress used to be code 41 as well), i certainly didnt complain, overnight went from a 10 to 16 on antlered. If you missed that window though, your stuck with the either sex code 41 and wainwright at some point.

As to the RELM, ive wondered the same thing

If you look up your priority on Albertarelm, your priorities are specified by draw code, so it is quite clearly stated.

Thank you, I did find the priorities listed.
Helps if you look in the right place...

I guess I've never really understood how the priorities work for critters other than mule bucks.

Can I use my bull moose priority on a cow?
What about all the antelope options? Are the priorities all separate for those draws too?
I kind of always assumed that since you can only put in one priority building application per species, that the priority applied species wide. But obviously I had (have) no idea what I'm talking about...

Look at the draw code for every draw, the priority is assigned to that one specific draw code, so it only applies to that one specific draw code.

Nope, you can't use bull priority on a cow - draws are typically by species and sex, and then differentiated by WMU/zone in certain cases.

So yeah, it is a bit frustrating when you want to build priority for both sexes of a species. But if you coordinate with your hunting partners take advantage of the partner system, you can figure out a priority schedule to alternate priorities and draws, depending on what you are after. At least you can get out hunting more often.

Where it gets tricky is when you can purchase a tag for a species/sex animal that you were drawn for, in some cases you can also get a general tag for the same sex/species. But the online system is designed to block you from invalid combinations.

There are a few answers to that question.
Regional Earthquake Likelihood Models
Rotor Encoding of Longitudinal Magnetization
Reflective Edge Light Marker
Real Estate Loss Mitigation

I think this one more accurately represents our error producing government bureaucracy:

Keep things at the simplest, ignore species and sex, and just look at the draw code. There are antlered, or antlerless, calf, and trophy or non trophy for some species, but no draw codes based on sex. The designations used are based on antlers/horns or in the case of a calf, size and general characteristics, all things that can be easily seen, so there is less chance of confusion. And every separate draw has a draw code, which is what priority is assigned to.

You can also draw priority on both sexes, however, only 1 sex per hunting season.

ie. This year, draw priority for bull moose, and next year draw priority for cow moose.

BUT, then it takes twice as long for both.

Best I can figure, RELM stands for “Remote Environment License Management” but who knows.
