Default Spring Bear Hunting

Its that time of the year, me and my hunting partner are venturing away from the area we hunt as it is becoming heavily populated, we are looking into a couple areas and had a couple questions, we usually hunt bears around slave lake and fill our tags every year we are wanting to venture into the wmu 342,344 area neither of us have driven nor hunted out in the area, my questions are whats the back country like is it full of endless mud and skag?? is there a lot of oilfield in the area?? is may long weekend crazy out there, reason I ask the last question is we are heading out towards the end of may and was just wondering if there would be any point in hunting that area after the long weekend, any good fishing in the area as well??

thanks guys and happy hunting

RR---Yes there are a lot of roads and oil activity but that does not mean there is not good Bear hunting. Check pipeline right of ways and make sure you target does not have a hunp on its back. Lots of streams but not sure when they are open. Good luck.
