Default Coyotes - WMU's & method

Two different scenarios, same question... Is it legal ?

1) Hunting coyotes, with a rifle, in 212 Calgary "bow-zone" (except not in city-limits).

2) Hunting coyotes, with a rifle, in any WMU during "bow-season".

* keep in mind, coyotes are NOT big-game...

I haven't got an official response from an actual F&W officer, the phone-jockey that I talked to said I "seemed to know more about the regs" than he did.

The reg's seem to indicate there's no issue ?

scenario #1: you can hunt coyote using any means from the opening day of a big game season (sept 1 in this zone) to may 31 in this zone.

same with #2.

pretty much beginning of a big game season, until may 31 or june 15 depending on how ong the spring bear season is in the zone that you wish to hunt.

Good to go,but personally I just wouldn't waste a bullet on one til mid-October at least.
Seen one on 22 south of Cochrane this evening actually,he sure looked red and sleek in his summer wardrobe.

u can not use a rifle in the 212 bow zone to shoot coyote. The county does not allow any single projectile firearms I live in the bow zone on acreage and am not aloud to shoot anything but shotguns and bows.

Contrary to what I've been told, but admittedly I haven't looked into it too deeply or sought official ruling?
Isn't there some "50 acre rule" or something like that?
Ie; with permission on minimum 50 acres?
Also, there is indeed the Dec. Foothills Deer season allowing shotgun and muzzleloader, therefore single projectiles, yes?
Pretty certain lotsa gophers get plinked in 212 also?

Fwiw,I was curious enuf to Google "Rockyview County firearms bylaw" and there is in fact "some" bans applicable to very specifically described areas and communities, but for the most part, your good to go.
And the requirement is 30acres,not 50 as I posted/guessed previously.

I appreciate the assistance.

But I have already searched Foothills MD hunting (& firearms) bylaw, which most of the areas I hunt are in, with no success.

And I got a return-call from an officer today, I'll post the verbatim voicemail tomorrow.
