Who knew, I'm very sure the physics is very complicated but it does work!
It adds a step but when you are having fun who cares?
Now we ask if the load were "compressed" what would it look like after it went through the drop tube? Still over the top of the case?
Thanks guys I've loaded all my 223 brass and am good to go.
Bye the way we all love to shoot groups, but given that it is only the first shot that counts why do we do it?
Maybe sighting in should be just cold barrel accuracy .

I genberally dont shoot groups unless I am strapped inot a monkey suit and a TR rifle or am behind an Fclass rifle!!
I do at times however shoot clays and stuff.
About the only time I shoot groups other than my match rifles is when I am either zeroing a gun or working up a load - otherwise it's gongs are clay birds at different distances.
The rifles choose to hunt with, once they are zeroed, get one shot at a clay bird on a berm each time I go to the range, and never at the same distance.
Oh and BTW, of course Eh11 was right - he wouldn't have mentioned it otherwise!!
