Default fly fishing trip for a buddy

So I have a friend that is coming out from Ontario for a weekend long fly fishing trip and one of the things he wants to do is take a guide trip down the bow river. So I would like to know what you guys recommend for a day trip/ best time of the summer. He is mostly looking for bull, brown and rainbow trout.

thanks

Right around Stampede time is a good time for the Bow... runoff is usually just ending, and the fish are hungry.

the bow is not the best place for bulls, but July can be some world class bow and brown fishing!

should also consider taking him to an alpine lake if you're both in good shape, some of my favorite alberta fishing is found high in the rockies for cutts

Well I will be taking him to bear pond and a riving in the mountains but he would like to ride down the river with a guide to try it

If you want a guided trip down the Bow I would avoid the week of the Stampede even if you could arrange for a guide at that time...too crowded!

And if you need accommodations should avoid the week of the Spruce Meadows equestrian events. Otherwise, late July and early August are prime times,

A guided trip on the bow is well worth it in July and August. Two of the best guides in the province are Kevin Peterson of country pleasures and terry Johnson of fishtales.
I promise you if you book either in those months your friend will think he has gone to heaven
