Default Land Access Request - Calgary - Deer

Got a moose this season up north, not having any luck on public land here for filling my general white-tail deer tag.

Any access to private land around Calgary would be ideal.

I am a responsible solo hunter, who would respect the land and any structures or farm animals on it.

Unrelated: I am always willing to share the spoils of a hunt with a friend !

Thanks for the read!

**P.S - i know it's taboo to request land access here, but I hope there is a landowner who is out there looking to this their deer herd!

Are you not aware that it is illegal to accept compensation of any kind, in exchange for access for the purpose of hunting? Meat is compensation.

I didn't, thanks for educating me! I edited my post to avoid the appearance of pay-for-access, as I have no intention of paying a land owner any compensation simply for access to their land. I simply meant I always share the meat with new friends. Cheers!

You think you are being clever, you're not.

Before he edited his original post, the OP offered meat in exchange for access, it would be illegal for a landowner to accept that offer. You can give a landowner a gift, but it can't be a condition of obtaining access.

Aren't we all ? Must be that time of the year, that brings out all those too lazy to do the leg work.

You've got until the end of November, keep your boots on the ground a little longer.

Finding a white tail in 316 is not hard neither is 314 if you can’t find a buck over 140 you are doing something incredibly wrong

So you're bow hunting right now? That area will still be busy with lots of recreational OHV's. You'd have to bury yourself in there pretty good. It's also a heavily hunted area. The season goes until the end of November. Find a good spot for a tree stand. Go out and scout for tracks and scrapes while the snow is light on the ground.

Bingo, but I think he might mean 412-414 because he mentioned a public land use zone... either way still scary with how often the regs seem to not be read

Waiparous/ghost are great places to start. Just have to get out of your truck and walk it’s going to be busy cause you’ll be out there with the rest of Calgary but the white tails seem to do ok.
